Mark your Calenders. 3/26 has officially been declared 'Air Max Day' by Nike

I have always been a huge fan of the Air Max Sneaker. From the "visible air window" (most commonly known as the air bubble), to its simple and comfortable design, it is really an every day shoe.

To commemorate the original release of the Air Max 1 on March 26, 1987, Nike has declared March 26th "Air Max Day" and in celebration, they will be releasing a special edition of the Air Max 1 to honor the shoe's birth date.
The "Air Max Day" Air Max 1 will feature the iconic white and red colorway, but will also include a stunning and unexpected Volt mid-sole. The cherry on top would be the numbers "3.26" adorning the tongue label to display the shoe's birth.

If you've never seen the "Respect the Architects" Documentary featuring Tinker Hatfield where he explains his inspiration behind the Air Max 1, you are surely missing out on some good sneaker knowledge.

Nike has mentioned the QS release of this Air Max 1 to be available for purchase on Nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers globally "beginning in March", so we suggest keeping an eye out for the unexpected release.

So, talk to us. Did you appreciate the Volt mid-sole or would you have rather seen the original design from 1987?
